2016 marked our 100th anniversary. There are three histories which cover that period. The first fifty years (1916-1966) was compiled by Phil Van Deventer "to celebrate our 50th anniversary, and bring to light a few facts which have a habit of disappearing in the past if allowed to go unrecorded too long."
The second history covers the next 25 years (1966-1991), and was written by longtime member Bill Hartz to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the club. The third history for the years 1991-2016 was composed by Jim Schmidt, who had the advantage of serving on the board for that period of time.
What happens next? We don't know, but we can safely say that based on the first hundred years the White Lake Golf Club will carry on and continue to be "The Burial Place of Old Man Gloom."
